HueIQ is a color-vision app that screens for color vision deficiency, identifies colors through your camera, and simulates how colors appear with different types of color blindness. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. HueIQ is built to be private by design.

The short version: HueIQ has no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of its own, and it does not send your data to us or anyone else. Everything you create in the app stays on your device. The app does not request internet permission, and it contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking.

1. Information the App Handles

Account information

None. HueIQ has no user accounts and no sign-in — you are never asked for a name, email address, password, or any other personal details.

Information you create in the app

Colors you save to “My Colors”.
Your color-vision test results and history.
Your preferences (theme, test-generation settings, etc.).

All of this is stored locally on your device and is not shared with us.

Camera

When you use the color scanner or vision-simulation features, the app processes the live camera image on your device, in memory, in real time, to detect colors and render simulations. Camera frames are not saved, not recorded, and not transmitted anywhere.

2. How the Information Is Used

Information is used solely to provide the app’s features on your device — saving your colors, keeping your test history, and applying your settings. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond running the app for you.

3. Data Storage & Transmission

HueIQ stores data using Android’s local on-device storage (DataStore). There is no HueIQ backend or cloud account.
The app does not declare the internet permission and does not transmit your app data off the device.
Android system backup: because the app permits Android’s standard backup, your app preferences may be included in your device’s own backup to your personal Google account, if you have Android Backup enabled in your device settings. This is controlled by you and your device, not by HueIQ, and the data remains within your own Google account.

4. Permissions

Camera — used only for the live color scanner and vision-simulation features. You are asked for this permission at the time you use those features, and you can decline or revoke it in your device settings.

The app requests no location, contacts, microphone, storage, or internet permissions.

5. Third-Party Services

HueIQ integrates no third-party services: no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers, and no sign-in providers.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Because all app data lives on your device, you are in control of it:

You can remove saved colors within the app.
Uninstalling HueIQ deletes all of the app’s data from your device.

7. Children’s Privacy

HueIQ is not directed to children under the age of 13, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app stores data only on the device and does not transmit it, no personal information is sent to us regardless of the user’s age.

8. Not a Medical Device

HueIQ is a screening and educational tool, not a medical diagnosis. Its color-vision results are informational only and are not a substitute for examination by a qualified eye-care professional.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here.
